Inquests Begin On Paddington Train Crash Victims Today

snippet: The first inquests are set to begin today at Westminster Coroner`s Court in central London following Tuesday`s rush hour train wreck outside Paddington Station. Coroner Paul Knapman "who presided over the inquest into the Marchioness pleasure boat disaster in 1989," reports The Guardian, "is expected to adjourn after formally declaring the proceedings open."
The Health and Safety Executive is to give Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott interim findings this morning and will reveal them at about 1400 BST. The Guardian reports: "It is expected to confirm that the crash was the result of the Thames Turbo train passing warning signals and crossing into the path of the express Great Western train near Paddington station."
