England v Germany: One Day To Go
who: England football team
what: Face Germany in World Cup 2002 qualifier
where: Wembley Stadium, LONDON
when: Tomorrow
snippet: "David Beckham last night vowed he`s fit and ready to boss the Germans," writes Danny Fullbrook in today`s Star. "The Manchester United midfielder finally trained yesterday after overcoming a slight ligament strain in his left knee which has kept him sidelined since Sunday."

"Training went well enough, though I did not do a full session, just some crosses and shooting and I`ve just got to see if there is any reaction," said Beckham yesterday. "I feel 95 per-cent fit today and hopefully I`ll be 100 per cent fit tomorrow".

Meanwhile, The Independent commemorates the last ever competitive game of football to be played beneath the famous twin towers by publishing the complete record of all 750 football matches played at Wembley stadium, noting that England captain Tony Adams is the unsurpassed Wembley record-holder with "59 Wembley appearances in all competitions and tournaments: 24 for Arsenal and 35 for his country".
