United Storm Schwarzenneger
who: Manchester United
what: Beat Sturm Graz 0-2
where: Arnold Schwarzenneger stadium, Austria
when: Last night
snippet: "Terminator Paul Scholes gunned down Sturm Graz at the Arnold Schwarzenneger stadium last night," says The Star`s Bill Thornton after Scholes opened Manchester United`s account in the 17th minute in the Champions` League Group A clash. "United kept the ball for long periods," says Express Sport Live`s Richard Tanner, "with some precise passing" which successfully "kept Graz on the back foot".
Scholes has moved to joint second, level with Denis Law, in United`s all-time list of goal-scorers in Europe.
"It was a marvellous goal and you forget, that because he`s a midfield player, how many goals he has scored," sais Ferguson later. "And they`ve all been important goals". [... more]
