snippet: "The horror of the Omagh massacre was relived yesterday," reports David Sharrock, Ireland Correspondent to The Telegraph, "when previously unseen amateur video film, shot within minutes of the Real IRA car bomb explosion, was shown to the inquest of the 29 victims."

It was the second day of the inquest into the deaths of those who died "when a 500lb car bomb went off in the Co Tyrone town on August 15, 1998", says John Mullin in The Guardian.

"The footage included sickening images of the dead and dying," he says. Some of the victims` families chose not to watch the three videos, lasting about 10 minutes.

"The third film showed some of the terrible injuries, occasionally in close-up," says Christopher Walker in The Tmes. "The look of fear and disbelief on the faces of those still living made it hard to remember that they were the lucky ones".

The court - a converted basketball court - heard yesterday that the bomb crater was about 40 yards beyond the cordon put in place by police before the blast and "the roof of the car containing the bomb was blown 71 yards on to the roof of a building," reports The Independent`s David McKittrick.
