"Kidnappers Made Us Cushions... It was Fantastic"

Botanist Tom Hart Dyke, 24, was accompanied by "fellow adventurer" Paul Winder, 29, on a hunt for rare orchids when they were taken prisoner on March 16th by unknown assailants. They "were fed beef and bananas by their captors who even made them cushions so they would be more comfortable," says The Mirror. They were finally released on December 10th and had to find their way through the jungle back to civilsation.
"We couldn`t find our way back and went back to the guerrillas for directions," said Paul, yesterday. "We had a cigarette and a drink with them," adds Tom, "and then went on our way."
Their captors even showed Tom where to find the best horticultural specimens. "They brought me orchids and showed me around the place," says Tom. "It was fantastic". [... more]
