snippet: "Yasser Arafat told Ehud Barak, the Israeli Prime Minister, to `go to hell` last night," reports The Telegraph`s Alan Philps.
"The Palestinian leader`s outburst followed Mr Barak`s announcement of a break in peace negotiations after three more Palestinians, including a 14-year-old boy, were killed in continuing violence in the occupied territories."
Mr Barak wants time out from the peace process to shore up his tenuous hold on government during the crisis and blamed the Palestinians for ruining his hopes of a peace deal by involving the UN.
"Our people is continuing the road to Jerusalem, the capital of an independent Palestinian state," said Mr Arafat. "To accept it or not accept it, let him go to hell".
"Last night Israeli helicopter gunships on the outskirts of Bethlehem fired rockets and heavy machineguns at Palestinian gunmen," says The Times. "The gunships were joined by tanks". [... more]
