Leicester City manager Taylor, 47, "will be in charge for England`s match against Italy on November 15," explains Rick Broadbent in The Times, "after which he will revert to being part of the eclectic pool of talent that the FA is lining up to help the eventual national coach."

"I intend to involve youngsters against Italy and that will benefit whoever takes over for the next game," Taylor told a press conference in Leicester yesterday. "I`m looking to involve one or two who haven`t even been in the senior squad before.We have an outstanding crop of youngsters, especially the group I had in my second qualifying campaign as Under-21 manager."

"Taylor said yesterday that he still thought that England should be managed by an Englishman," says Nick Harris in The Independent. "Given the three candidates that are said to be on the FA`s shortlist, it must be presumed then, that he would rather work under Roy Hodgson (currently at FC Copenhagen) than under Arsenal`s Arsène Wenger or Lazio`s Sven Goran Eriksson."
