Gore "Lost Soul" As Bush Prepares For Office

snippet: "A Florida judge has ruled that one million votes are to be moved under police escort to the state capital, Tallahassee, as the court battle for the US presidency intensifies," reports the BBC this morning.
A court hearing will take place on Saturday which is hoped to resolve the ongoing dispute over the US presidential election on November 7th. Democratic Party candidate Al Gore insists that the votes must be recounted by hand in order for a fair conclusion to the state`s election, upon which the final election result depends. Republican candidate George W Bush, on the other hand, has already been declared the winner by the Florida Secretary of State after a partial manual recount last week.
Meanwhile, says The Telegraph, a close aide of Mr Gore has described him as "a lost soul" who is "increasingly absorbed in the struggle to pull his political future out of the fires". The incumbent vice president is apparently "flabbergasted that Americans show no outrage over an election being stolen in Florida".
Yesterday Mr Bush announced that he and his entourage had rented "spacious offices in the affluent suburb of McLean in northern Virginia", says The Independent, as he - perhaps presumptuously - gathers his cabinet prepares to take office in January. [... more]
