Mr Blair will fly to Washington to brief President George Bush on his meetings with leaders from Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Israel and the Palestinian Authority. "He is then likely to fly back to London immediately for a meeting with Ariel Sharon, the Israeli Prime Minister," says The Independent. His meeting with Mr Sharon yesterday was another humiliation, says The Guardian`s Patrick Wintour. The Israeli leader refused to hold talks with the Palestinians and enthusiastically defended Israel`s controversial policy of assassinating suspected terrorists.
