New Clue To Outback `Killer`

snippet: "Police in Australia`s Northern Territory yesterday unveiled enhanced video camera footage of a pick-up truck driver resembling the outback gunman who attacked British tourists Joanne Lees and Peter Falconio," reports Patrick Barkham in The Guardian.
"Mr Falconio, 28, from Hepworth, near Huddersfield, was attacked by a gunman on the Stuart Highway near Barrow Creek in the Northern Territory more than three weeks ago," recalls Thge Times. "He is believed to have been shot dead."
In the new photographs, the suspect`s canvas-covered vehicle is shown parked at a petrol station in Alice Springs "and the man is seen in the shop where police said he bought ice and water," reports ITN. At that time, Ms Lees, having escaped the attacker, was hiding in the bush nearby in fear for her life.
Police have now confirmed that the decomposed body of a man found along the same Outback highway was not that of Mr Falconio, reports The Independent. [... more]
