Leeds Sweep Aside Troyes With "Disdainful Football"
who: Leeds United
what: Beat Troyes 4-2 in UEFA Cup first leg tie
where: Elland Road, LEEDS
when: Last night
snippet: "The English have not had so much fun out of Troyes since King Henry V signed a treaty in their cathedral to become heir to the throne of France," says the erudite David Hopps in The Guardian from Elland Road where Leeds United beat the Frenchmen 4-2 last night.

After 44 minutes, Viduka scored his second to make it 3-1 (in spite of a well justified appeal for the offside flag from Troyes) and finally Bowyer got another. But by then, boss David O`Leary was not impressed.
"When you have teams by the throat... you have to finish them off and we had a great chance to do that," he said afterwards. "But I`m hopeful we will still go through - although you know what football is like." [... more]
