Anthrax Claims Two More Lives

Final tests on the dead men - one identified as Thomas Morris, the other not named - have not yet confirmed the diagnosis, says The Evening Standard, but the deaths have been described as "very suspicious" by Dr Ivan Walks, chief medical officer for the city.
"The form of anthrax appeared to be so dangerous that death could occur within hours of symptoms appearing," continues Toby Harnden`s report in The Telegraph. "Post mortem tests were being carried out on the two dead workers from Brentwood, which handles mail for Capitol Hill, the scene of the anthrax attack last week."
"Both the Brentwood facility and a second postal building at the Baltimore-Washington international airport have been closed indefinitely," says The Independent. "More than 2,000 employees at the two locations have been urged to come forward for testing and for precautionary treatment."
"A further nine people in the Washington area are suffering from anthrax-like symptoms," says The Guardian, "and are anxiously awaiting test results." [... more]
