Faces Of Bin Laden Terrorists Revealed

"Robert Mueller, the FBI`s director, said there was evidence that one or more of the hijackers had contacts with the al-Qa`ida network of Osama bin Laden," says The Independent, "adding that the FBI was following up more than 200,000 leads."
Meanwhile, Afghanistan`s Taliban rulers said yesterday that they had asked Saudi-born dissident Osama bin Laden, who has been their guest since 1996, to leave the country voluntarily, reports the BBC.
The Mirror says that 30 arrests accross Europe have foiled plans by bin Laden`s followers to strike Nato headquarters and the European Parliament in Brussels and the US embassy in Paris. Spanish authorities say they have established a link between the notorious terrorist and six Algerians arrested this week, reports The Independent. Police seized video tapes and diaries, one of which "included a passage expressing the wish to die in a suicide attack for the Islamic cause". And The Times says that German authorities have foiled a conspiracy by "a Hamburg-based cell of suicide pilots" linked to Osama bin Laden but a senior detective emphasises that there is no conclusive evidence which "would convict bin Laden in a court".
Elsewhere in The Times, there`s a report that allied military forces massing in the Middle East plan to fire a "warning shot", which may be a limited airstrike, to frighten the Taliban into "cooperating". [... more]
