Romeo Is The Most Beautiful Thing

The pop singer Victoria Beckham, 28, was admitted to the Portland Hospital in London early yesterday and, on medical advice, gave birth by Caesarean section at 9.40am."

Beckham told the press that he had been present "when Romeo came out", reports The Mirror. The England captain described the experience as "awesome" and his newborn son as "the most beautiful thing in the world".

"We are both delighted," he went on. "Victoria`s great. She`s sitting up in bed and the family are there."

"There had been speculation Mrs Beckham was expecting a girl, to be called Paris," says The Scotsman. "The couple had named their first son after the New York district because, apparently, he had been conceived there."

Asked if he was planning to his own family five-a-side team, he joked: "We might start working on that in a few months". A researcher at The Times has established that the name Romeo is far from unique, with 210 currently on the electoral roll.
