Maxine Carr May Get Bail

"Her legal team are looking for a suitable place to put her without risk of reprisal after the anger generated by the murder of the two 10-year-old schoolgirls," says Adam Fresco in The Times.

"People have misunderstood the position," her solicitor Roy James told the Law Society`s Gazette, quoted by Sky News. "She has not been charged with the girls` murder and if the media background to the case is ignored she would be granted bail as a matter of course."

The 25 year-old former teaching assistant, "who supervised the girls` class at St Andrew`s primary school in Soham, is accused of attempting to pervert the course of justice," explains The Telegraph, "which carries a maximum sentence of life." Her boyfriend, 28 year-old Ian Huntley, who was caretaker of Soham Village College, has been charged with murder and is being assessed at Rampton high-security hospital. [... more]
