Ruthless England Plan Fightback
who: England cricket team
what: Play South Africa in fifth and final Test
where: The Oval, LONDON
when: Today
snippet: "Michael Vaughan insists England will discover a ruthless streak following the disaster of Headingley," says The Sun as England prepare for the fifth and final Test against South Africa at The Oval today. "Vaughan and Co had several chances to seize control of the Fourth Test but the skipper admitted his players were just not tough enough to take them."
"We`ve spoken about being more ruthless and, if we get in a good position again, I`m sure it will be different," he says. "I believe we can really nail down the South Africans."

"Victory at Trent Bridge gave the 28-year-old captain a taste of the good life but another thrashing at Headingley made him fully aware of the pressures of this job."
The Guardian`s David Hopps says England find themselves in such a tough situation because 13 one-day internationals and seven Tests have been crammed into the summer.
"Back-to-back Tests are not ideal," agrees South Africa skipper Graeme Smith, "and back-to-back one-day internationals are definitely unacceptable. It`s something I want to see discussed." [... more]
