Cole Keeps Wenger`s Dream Alive
who: Arsenal
what: Beat Dynamo Kiev 1-0 in Champions` League
where: Highbury, LONDON
when: Last night
snippet: "Ashley Cole rescued Arsenal`s Champions League dreams last night with a last-gasp winner at Highbury," says The Mirror. Arsenal`s first home win in the Champions` League for 14 months "carried Arsenal to within three points of Group A leaders Inter, who could only draw 1-1 with Lokomotiv Moscow," explains The Telegraph, "and two points behind Kiev, who occupy the second qualification position."
But Matt Dickinson of The Times is not convinced that the Wenger boys are destined for a place in the knockout stage. "This most fraught of victories could yet turn out to be nothing more than a temporary reprieve," he writes, "for a team that, for all its attacking gifts, still finds it unfathomably difficult to find the route to goal against European opposition."
