where: Wood Green Crown Court, LONDON
when: Yesterday
snippet: "An Albanian who smuggled kidnapped women into Britain for his sex slave empire was jailed for 10 years yesterday," says The Mirror. "Former asylum seeker Luan Plakici, 26, obtained a British passport and trawled eastern Europe for victims who were promised jobs and money in Britain."
"Plakici made hundreds of thousands of pounds from prostitution in less than two years using the money to buy luxury homes and a number of expensive cars," reports The Independent`s Jason Bennetto. "He admitted seven counts of people trafficking and confessed to helping up to 60 women enter Britain illegally."

He told them that they had to pay back £8,000 of "travel expenses" and "the slightest dissent was met with an explosion of violence, rape and warnings that anything other than abject submission would endanger their families back home".
"They were forced to work seven days a week dealing with as many as 20 clients a day," says The Telegraph`s courts correspondent, Sue Clough, from Wood Green Crown Court in north London. "Plakici even married the prettiest of the girls but made her spend her wedding night servicing other men." [... more]
