The British Racing Drivers` Club (BRDC), which owns and runs Silverstone in Northamptonshire, is reported to have offered Bernie Ecclestone about £3million short of the £8.9million package the Formula One supremo had demanded, says The Scotsman.
BDRC president Sir Jackie blamed the government for failing to subsidise the grand prix "for the sake of the industry, sport and the country," says The Independent.
