Dream Draw For Yeading
who: Newcastle United
what: To play Ryman League leaders Yeading in FA Cup 3rd round
where: YEADING
when: January 8th or 9th
snippet: "The rank outsiders Yeading have been handed a glamour tie at home to Newcastle in the third round as a reward for overcoming their fellow Ryman League stalwarts Slough Town," says The Guardian.

Club secretary Bill Gritt initially called for the game to be switched from their 3,000 capacity ground The Warren, located near Junction 3 of the M4, to 52,000-capacity St James` Park, but after the FA laid down the law, he told BBC Radio 5 Live this morning that he would give up on that plan, pending approval from local authorities.

"I have been scanning the FA competition rules," says Tim Fuell, webmaster for the Ryman League leaders, who are three tiers down from the Football League, "and it seems that if we [switched venues], any profit over the 3,000 capacity would go into the FA pool. That seems a bit unfair, so we will take advice from the FA, the police and our local council this week before determining whether we can stage the game."

The Times says the man to watch at Yeading is glamorous striker Dudley Campbell, "known to all and sundry as DJ". He scored twice against Slough Town and reporter Mel Webb describes him as "deceptively frail but, like Jermain Defoe, another little ’un, he can become awfully wide and unexpectedly powerful when somebody is trying to shake him off the ball".

The other FA Cup dream draw of the day was for Exeter City, who will play Manchester United away. Mike Rowbottom of The Independent says the cash-strapped club, relegated from the Football League last season, are a relatively good bet at 10,000-1. "They will be able to call upon some outstanding FA Cup experience," he says, "their director of football is Steve Perryman, who captained Tottenham Hotspur to successive FA Cup wins in 1981 and 1982."
