Prince Harry Attacks Photographer
who: Prince Harry
what: Attacks photographer outside night club
where: LONDON
when: Early yesterday morning
snippet: "Prince Harry`s playboy image is under fresh scrutiny," says The Evening Standard`s website, thisislondon.com, "after an early morning fracas outside a nightclub which left a paparazzi photographer with a cut lip."
Chris Uncle, a photographer with the Big Pictures agency, was allegedly attacked as he and other photographers flocked around the prince outside the Pangaea club in the West End at 3am on Thursday.
"Inevitably, two very different versions of events have emerged as each side attempts to shed the best light on events that took place," says The Scotsman. "The Prince of Wales`s office at Clarence House said the 20-year-old was simply defending himself, after being hit on the nose by a camera when photographers crowded around him as he got into his car. The Royal version of events has been questioned by at least two photographers outside Pangea`s nightclub. They say the prince lashed out without provocation."
"You f***ing w***er...why are you f***ing doing this?" the prince shouted at Mr Uncle, according to his version of events, reported by The Mirror today. "Why don`t you just leave me alone?"
"One minder yelled: `Calm down Harry!` before they forced him back in the car and drove off," says The Sun. The paper`s veteran royal photographer Arthur Edwards says has "tremendous sympathy for Harry", who is he says is "a super bloke. In the trenches you`d be delighted to have him with you. If nothing else, when push comes to shove, he`ll come out fighting." [... more]
