snippet: Girls Aloud spend a second week at the top of the charts with `I`ll Stand By You` and we all know it will be the last because the Number One next week - and for about six weeks after that, no doubt - will be `Do They Know It`s Christmas?` by Band Aid 20.

So it seems this year the big debate will be about who gets the christmas Number Two. At the moment, for the second consecutive week, it`s Destiny`s Child`s `Lose My Breath` and there`s also no change at Three for Lemar`s `If There`s Any Justice`.

There`s a new entry at Four for Geri (that`s the former Ginger Spice, in case you were fooled by her sudden decision to go by her first name alone) with `Ride It` and Nelly duets with Christina Aguilera on `Ya Head Back`, this week`s Number Five.

Former Westlife singer Brian McFadden`s rather daringly personal and not uncontroversial `Irish Son` is new at Six and Shania Twain`s `Party For Two`, from her new Greatest Hits collection, is new at Ten (featuring a guest vocal from Sugar Ray frontman Mark McGrath).

No surprise over on the album chart where U2`s album How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb is top of the charts. The only other new entry is Kylie`s greatest hits collection at Four. [... more]
