snippet: On September 28th 2003, Margaret Irvine, who lived alone in her flat in Galston, Ayrshire, "was bound and beaten before a duster was shoved in her mouth and a pillowcase pulled over her head," says The Scotsman. "Mrs Irvine died of asphyxiation". Elsewhere in the courts, The Telegraph says a 27 year-old man appeared before Bristol magistrates charged with murdering 45 year-old Scott Marshall in Kingsdown, resulting in Mr Marshall`s three year-old son being abandoned with his father`s body until he was discovered three days later; The Telegraph also reports that illegal immigrant Aaron Chisango was jailed for just eight weeks after he knocked down and killed a 12 year-old boy while driving an uninsured car without a driving license and after drinking a litre of whisky; and The Times reports that Mark Hobson, who triggered "one of the biggest police manhunts in British history" last summer, has pleased guilty to four murders, including the killing of his girlfriend Claire Sanderson and her sister.
