The Mirror reports from the Labour conference in Dundee, where chancellor Gordon Brown pledged to end teen unemployment if Labour wins a third term. Elsewhere on the unofficial campaign trail, Michael Howard announced Tory plans for education reform at a press conference, where he was joined by the mother of a boy with special needs who made headlines last month by accosting Tony Blair during the live broadcast of Five`s The Wright Stuff. The Mirror reports that Mr Howard has also been addressing the Conservative City Circle in London and deputy political editor Bob Roberts expresses his dismay that the Tory leader remarked: "It`s 76 years to the day that Al Capone died - and we all hate taxes as much as Al Capone did." Finally in election news, a YouGov survey for The Telegraph on Monday says less than 42% of eligible first-time voters are planning to vote in the general election compared to 46% from the same group who have already voted for contestants in Big Brother or Pop Idol.
