snippet: Prof Elwood, of Cardiff University, told a conference organised by the Aspirin Foundation that "strokes and heart attacks could be reduced by about a third," says The Telegraph, and that "a low-dose aspirin a day may also help to protect against cancer and Alzheimer`s disease". In other health news, the British Medical Journal has warned that "people with a waist size greater than 39.37 inches (one metre) have a sharply increased risk of heart disease and diabetes"; and The Times says a study of obesity drug Rimonabant found that almost 40% of patients lost 10% of their body weight in a year.
