snippet: The former deputy head teacher is accused of murdering 13 year-old Billie-Jo Jenkins with a tent peg at her home on February 15th, 1997. Lois Jenkins, his ex-wife, who now lives in Tasmania, gave evidence via videolink and "broke down as she said how after her husband was charged, she told him she would never be able to live with him again," reports The Mirror. She told the court that she began to suspect her husband after he took part in a press conference following the murder. "Mr Jenkins maintains that Billie-Jo was killed by a prowler," says The Times.
